Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus 5G Kenya: 8GB RAM, Flagship Features, Mid-Range Price

The Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus 5G Kenya edition with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage delivers a level of performance, camera quality and build that most phones at this price cannot touch. A 200MP AI camera with optical image stabilisation, a 1.5K AMOLED display hitting 3000 nits peak brightness, 120W HyperCharge, IP68 waterproofing, NFC for contactless M-PESA payments, and confirmed Safaricom 5G readiness, all in one device under KSh 50,000. This is the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus 5G Kenya buyers have been comparing across every store in Nairobi.

8GB RAM and 256GB Storage: Built for the Way You Actually Use Your Phone

8GB of LPDDR4X RAM handles everything you run simultaneously without hesitation. Switching between WhatsApp, Instagram, Google Maps, Chrome and a video call happens instantly with no reload, no stutter, no waiting. 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage holds thousands of 200MP photos, hours of 4K video, all your apps, music and downloaded content, with room to spare. For buyers in Kenya comparing 8GB versus higher RAM configurations, 8GB handles every daily task, social media workflow and photography need without compromise.

200MP AI Camera Phone Kenya Photographers Love

The 200MP main camera sits on a large 1/1.4-inch sensor with an f/1.65 aperture and optical image stabilisation. Sharper shots at Karura forest, cleaner wildlife photos at Naivasha, detailed coastal captures at Diani, and clear low-light event photos across Nairobi. AI Erase Pro removes unwanted people or objects from shots with one tap. AI Bokeh adds a professional blurred background. The 8MP ultra-wide handles group and wide scenes. The 20MP front camera delivers crisp selfies with a wider field of view for groups. This is the 200MP camera phone Kenya content creators and photography enthusiasts have been looking for at this price point.

1.5K AMOLED Display, 3000 Nits, Readable Under Nairobi Noon Sun

The 6.67-inch CrystalRes AMOLED display runs at 1.5K resolution (2712 x 1220 pixels), 120Hz refresh rate and a 480Hz touch sampling rate. Peak brightness hits 3000 nits, enough to read comfortably under direct Nairobi midday sun without shading the screen. The 1920Hz PWM dimming and TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification protect your eyes during long sessions. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front offers 200% better drop resistance than Gorilla Glass 5. Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio make every streaming session feel cinematic.

Snapdragon 7s Gen 3: Fast, Efficient, 5G Ready

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 is built on a 4nm manufacturing process with an octa-core CPU running at up to 2.5GHz and an Adreno GPU. Paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, it handles multitasking, gaming, camera processing and AI tasks without lag. LiquidCool technology manages heat during intensive use, so performance stays consistent through long gaming sessions, extended video calls and back-to-back photography bursts.

120W Fast Charging Phone Kenya Buyers Have Been Waiting For

The 5110mAh battery powers a full day of heavy use on a single charge. When it runs low, 120W HyperCharge brings it from flat to full in approximately 43 minutes. That is faster than most lunch breaks. As a 120W fast charging phone Kenya buyers can actually afford, it delivers this charging speed at a price point where competitors offer 33W or 45W. One important disclosure: the 120W charger is NOT included in the box. A 100W or higher PD wall adapter is required to achieve 120W speeds. The cable and phone are in the box, the charger is sold separately.

IP68 Waterproof Phone Kenya Can Actually Trust

The Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus 5G carries an IP68 rating, tested to withstand submersion in up to 1.5 metres of freshwater for 30 minutes. Surviving Nairobi rain on a matatu ride, accidental drops into a bathroom sink, coastal humidity at the Mombasa beach, or a drink spilled at a party. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and Gorilla Glass 7i on the back protect against drops. The All-Star Armor Structure adds four-corner reinforcement, polymer shock absorbers and a steel-reinforced inner core. This is the IP68 waterproof phone Kenya buyers have been comparing across brands at this price range.

NFC Phone Kenya: Tap to Pay with M-PESA, KCB and Equity

This is the NFC phone Kenya contactless payment users need. Built-in NFC enables tap-to-pay at compatible POS terminals across Kenya, including M-PESA Visa card contactless payments, KCB contactless, Equity contactless and international Visa or Mastercard tapping at airports, hotels, supermarkets and petrol stations. No fumbling with PINs, no swiping. Just tap and go.

Safaricom 5G Ready Out of the Box

The phone supports 5G bands n77 and n78, which are Safaricom’s active 5G bands in Nairobi, Kisumu and Mombasa. This phone works on Safaricom 5G without any configuration or band unlocking. Where 5G is available, you get significantly faster downloads, smoother streaming and lower latency for gaming. Where 5G is not yet available, the phone automatically switches to 4G LTE for full coverage across Kenya.

Google Gemini AI, Circle to Search and More

Google Gemini AI is built in. Circle anything on your screen and Circle to Search pulls up results instantly. AI Interpreter handles real-time translation for face-to-face conversations, useful in multilingual Kenyan business and travel settings. AI Subtitles automatically transcribes and translates meeting recordings or video content. AI Notes summarises, proofreads and translates documents. AI Film creates short video compilations from your photos and clips automatically.

Dual Speakers, Dolby Atmos and an IR Blaster

Dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos deliver wide, balanced sound for content, calls and shared music. The X-axis linear motor provides premium haptic feedback that feels noticeably better than entry-level vibration motors. The IR blaster at the top turns the phone into a universal remote control for Samsung, LG, Hisense, Sony, DSTV decoders and any other IR-compatible device in your home or office.

Four Colours, One Premium Build

Available in Frost Blue, Midnight Black, Lavender Purple and Sand Gold, all with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i back panels and a high-strength aluminium composite frame. At 8.75mm thin and 210g, it feels premium in the hand without being heavy. The in-screen fingerprint sensor and AI Face Unlock give you fast, secure access every time.
